part of your world (if only for an hour!)

Legs are required for jumping, dancing
Strolling along down a – what’s that word again?

the girl in the long pink coat

once upon a time, a tiny girl and her family were walking along the riverbank… and even from far away the girl’s bright pink coat and twinkling eyes shone bright as buttons…

Scrumptiously. Superbly. SISTERS.

Deep, deep in the vault of ANAPHOTO, sat this gorgeous family… a family that somehow went unblogged from back in December. A travesty! I’m giggling now as I bring these cute buttons to light.

Join me now in appreciating all that is SISTERS, siblings and the joy of just joshin’ around.

The Cutest Little Goalie

The sunshine in Los Angeles sure has done this little goalie some good–look at that huge sparkly smile in those tiny pink TOMS!

Olivia is the first cutie featured from my 12-day California photo roadtrip… and it’s going to be a hard act to follow!

Stay tuned–ANAPHOTO might be coming to shoot in a city near you in 2011!

Chocolate Firetrucks

Just there!

Did you see it? It zoomed by us! Just fwoomed on by!

“What did?”

“The chocolate firetruck!”

“Can you eat a chocolate firetruck?”

“Only after it is done saving people.”

Such is the magnificent mind of 3-year-old Keir. With a fierce imagination no-nonsense outlook, this little boy made me feel like our entire just-after-it-stopped-raining shoot day was actually some sort of choose-your-own-adventure book (didn’t you love those as a kid?) that we were creating together.

” See those?” Keir stands inside the belly of a concrete sculpture, pointing at the screws that hold it together. We are all still bewildered as to how he scaled the thing.

“Those are the buttons in my spaceship. I can’t reach them now, but I will be able to when I’m older.”

This was a shoot I will not soon forget, and I now list it as one of my goals to live more like a 3-year-old. Who among us wouldn’t love a moment or two inside this world of wonder?

strawberry girl

Meet Miss Riley, who came all the way to NYC from Michigan for a photo shoot-Wow! We had a twinkly, misty morning in Central Park to play in, and as soon as our shoot wrapped it began to sprinkle! It was meant to be. Here is my photo-love note to you, Strawberry Girl! <3

The Sweetest Thing

It came to me yesterday.

The late afternoon in Montauk found a wide wooden deck with a sprightly toddler upon it, and as the warm evening unfurled into night, I frolicked about with my very own nephew Eli, at the precious age of 19 months. It occurred to me then that the sweetest thing about being an artist for a living is the occasional opportunity to train your lens (paintbrush, words, whatever) on your very own loved ones. Thanks E, for just being your adorable self! <3
