Happy Happy Day! It’s a whole new year. A whole clean slate. Although arbitrary, I love January 1st as a marker of time… creating the idea of a blank slate, a chance to forgive ourselves whatever nonsense we’ve created between our ears… a chance to let the air out of that Stress Balloon with a WHIZZZZZ… and start anew with smiles turned up at the corners and excitement for the year to come streaming our of our mouths… chatterboxing away…
I’m chattering on and on about the things I want to SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT! What are you excited for?

Oh, man… something is so MAGICAL about the shade of yellow the leaves turn in late October… it’s like, Golden… gilded, twinkling… which certainly matches the sweet grins on these two… TWINKLING!

It was one of those amazing New York moments… a little boy spending the afternoon describing his favorite book.
A book about a tugboat named Mighty! And as we strolled along the water’s edge, who should come down the Hudson but a police boat! And as we stood at the railing to wave, the little boy’s shouts caught the eye of the policeman driving the boat.
“OH, HI MIGHTY!”
“MIGHTY, OVER HERE!”
And wouldn’t you know it–a miracle happened. A fine moment from New York’s Finest. The NYPD boat (this is all true) actually swerved over out of the middle of the river, and slowly but mightily nosed its way over to the railing right in front of us. Mighty actually stopped to say hello!
And for a moment or maybe two, the story came to life for one special little guy. I sure do love this town.

As we all break bread with our loved ones this weekend, let us take stock of the little things (tiny victories!) that we are so extra grateful for… like your man letting you sleep in an extra hour… like the taste of potatoes gratin, day 3… like this lil’ peanut’s grin… ahhhhhh.
