…Hoboken Dreams…
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on March 14, 2011
…it’s a lovely thing, your first family home… the first room, the first apartment you brought your baby home to… the bedroom where he first laughed, the window he looked out of to point at airplanes…
…it’s a splendid year of firsts when baby turns 1… and all the more reason to freeze that moment in time with photos… those happy 1-year-old giggles will linger on when you gaze upon them from a new room, a new home, a new window in a new town…
Wishing the Blankenships all the hugs and kisses under the sun as they remember their lazy Hoboken afternoons from a new zip code!

A twinkling star
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on February 18, 2011
I could definitely wax poetic about what an honor and treat it is to photograph a tiny peanut born to two such accomplished and good-looking people… but I’ll let you see for yourself. Tiny little three-week-old Zoe, the sweetest little duck, is very special. I’ll be watching her grow up with great pride and excitement for her family. <3

A Blessing For Alexa
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on February 10, 2011
Dedicated to the tiny, lovely angel that was just born to the Falik family. Gorgeous new mom Jenn is of one of the most inspirational women I’ve ever met, so this shoot was an extra-big honor. Each photo below contains a 2-D digital-blog-version of a BIG hug from me… I’m so proud to be Alexa’s first photographer!
p.s. Do you die for this fab nursery? I do. When the Chic get prego, the prego call Michele of Little Lavender (a division of Lavender and Plum). Go to LL’s nursery design site here and you’ll see what I mean! Such a talent.

Jack’s energy was contagious on our shoot day, and this quote reminded me of him. Thanks for the playdate, Jack! <3

…and three become four!
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on January 15, 2011
The birth of a sibling is such an exciting (and tiring!) but fulfilling time. The feeling that your family is complete, (at least for now), and the feeling that your heart is so full that it might burst.
For the Zink family, this post should actually be “four become five” since their firstborn was really their Great Dane, Tyrus! But let me tell you, the love is flowing like fruit punch in this house, and you can tell how happy these five are just with once glance from older brother Kolten to his new baby brother Calvin.
These blond brothers are EDIBLE and their mama is a KNOCK-OUT… can’t think of any other way I’d rather spend an afternoon! Pass the fruit punch… <3

After the holidays, I need a nap.
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on December 29, 2010
Sometimes, the very days that should be most relaxing are instead taxing. I think tomorrow, (just like 13-day old Calvin) I’ll take a good extra-long snooze. Even if it’s in the middle of the day!

Simon Says: Grin like Mad!
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on December 17, 2010
There was something special about Delilah’s two-toothed grin as she greeted me at the door… and that was only the beginning.
Little D loves to imitate, and it only took a little smirk from me to get her to erupt into a giant delicious grin! Ka-POW!
Under chairs, across rugs and atop beds, nothing could put out the giggly flame of this tiny, wonderful spirit.
“Ooo-ooo-ooo ah-ah-ah!” D loves to make monkey sounds, and SO DO I. (obvs!)
“OO-oo-oo, AH ah ah!” and then, THWAP! Giant heart-shaped smile.
But the biggest grin of all? Playing peek-a-boo with mom… BOOM! Irresistible grin.
Talk about tiny victories! <3

Oh Bunny, Be Mine!
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on October 30, 2010
All babies are cute.
But then some babies are so extra Gerber-like that it’s actually hard not to speak in their presence without raising your voice three octaves!
Miss Alyssa is one such perfect baby, and it was clear why her parents took such care and joy in doting on her. We played for more than an hour with Alyssa, and she held it together like a champ.
Alyssa’s favorite (and most smile-inducing!) toy is her bunny, who brought about instant glee in her world. We quickly put bunny on the payroll, having her peek-a-boo, sing and dance for Alyssa.
Miss A might have more photoshoots in her future, if this stellar 4-month old performance is any indication of her affinity for them… and I’ll be the first in line to snap-snap-snap her again, with bunny in tow!

Welcome to my yard! Would you like a tomato?
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on June 2, 2010
OH, how to describe the spunk of little Ella? She just bounced around this gorgeous back yard for the entire time I visited! She loves to chase bubbles, eat tomatoes (and ONLY tomatoes!) and was so adorably inquisitive about my camera! She loved how she could see her reflection in the big glass face of my lens, and peered into it every chance she got. I can’t wait to see this one grow! P.S. My friends Julie and Matt are the proud (and LUCKY, i might add!) parents of this most delicious little peanut! <3

Lauren and Devin: The Secret Garden…
Posted by Ana Schechter in anaphoto on May 3, 2010
As if I wasn’t excited enough about seeing these girls again (I used to babysit them when they were infants!) I got an EXTRA BIG THRILL after arriving at the girls’ gorgeous Scotts Valley home and seeing their positively magnificent backyard! It was a true secret garden, of the most magical kind. The hazyness of the day just made the surroundings that much more twinkly! I couldn’t help but throw in a BUNCH of garden details, to help you grasp the EXPERIENCE of this day…sweet things all around!
