About
Hi! Welcome to Rooting For Tiny Victories.
Rooting For Tiny Victories started out as a clever catchphrase I dreamt up, something I would use in conversation to express my appreciation for the “journey” part of life, and I found that I would use it often. At the same time, I was trying to nail down an identity for my work, something to describe my visual style and what made my imagery my own.
Soon enough, I realized that Rooting For Tiny Victories was actually the answer to all of these things. My philosophy in life, my coping mechanism, my mantra and my artist statement. Voila! A blog was born.
Below is a formal bio and sample CLIENT LIST, but the real fun begins here! It’s a video of me doin’ my thing… it’ll tie everything you’ve just read together! (also embedded below)
Ana Schechter is a top NYC-based portrait photographer specializing in children. Originally from California, Ana moved to New York City following her graduation from the world-renown Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, and has loved working and frolicking in New York City ever since. Photoshoots with Ana are a fun, natural and playful experience, which is completely necessary when working towards a polished result with kids! The result is meant to strike a cord with the viewer, the parent, the client–it is an expression of the version of your child that you see when you close your eyes and picture your family. Ana shoots couture portraiture for private clients, in addition to editorial assignments and advertising work in New York City and all over the world.
